Suspended Production 3/31/20 - 4/6/20

We learned yesterday that Honda would be extending its production suspension from March 31 through April 6. Honda currently plans to resume normal production on April 7. That production suspension means TS Tech’s productions demands will be significantly decreased.

Most production at our facility will be suspended through April 6. Your management team will communicate which associates will still be required to support the remaining business demands. For those who are not needed for these business demands, TS Tech will communicate with you when you will be expected to return to work. Our facility will be staffing appropriately to ensure smooth production startup on April 7. During this period of suspended production, we will be continuing the increased cleaning efforts we carried out during the current suspension period.

We understand that compensation and benefits during this period is one of your main concerns. TS Tech is pleased to confirm that TS Tech will maintain the benefits for all associates that enrolled in TS Tech’s health plan. For compensation, the following will apply:

  • Exempt (salary) Associates: Will continue to work per your previously instructed guidelines. Any exempt associates who are not required to work during this period will be required to take PTO to cover those days.

  • Non-Exempt (hourly) Associates – For those not asked to work on any of the below days, the below schedule applies. For associates asked to work on any of the below days, you will be paid accordingly.

    • March 30 – previously announced paid non-production day

    • March 31 and April 1 – designated as non-work days and automatically covered by PTO

      • Associates may instead designate these days as No Pay/No Penalty instead of taking PTO. TS Tech will call you on 3/31/20 or 4/1/20 between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm to discuss.

      • Associates without PTO to cover these days will be permitted to borrow two PTO days from the upcoming Ki.

      • For those on a current Leave of Absence, that leave will take precedence and no PTO will be applied. This includes the new Temporary Paid Personal Leave that goes into effect April 1.

    • April 2 and April 3 – designated as paid non-production days. Any pending or approved Leave of Absence, including the new Temporary Paid Personal Leave that goes into effect April 1, will be applied. If no open or approved leave exists, these days will be paid non-production days.

    • April 6 – designated as non-work day and automatically covered by PTO

      • Associates may instead designate these days as No Pay/No Penalty instead of taking PTO. TS Tech will call you on 3/31/20 or 4/1/20 between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm to discuss.

      • Associates without PTO to cover this day will be permitted to borrow one PTO day from the upcoming Ki

      • For those on a current Leave of Absence, that leave will take precedence and no PTO will be applied. This includes the new Temporary Paid Personal Leave that goes into effect April 1.

In addition, TS Tech is instructing management at all facilities to continue to identify all individuals who can perform their roles remotely and direct those associates to work remotely. Government at all levels has stressed the importance of removing as many people from businesses as possible in order to maximize the safety for everyone.

We anticipate there will be more updates in the days and weeks to come and we will communicate with you all as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you have questions, please speak with your management.

Thank you.
